“It’s a tremendous honor to have so many vehicles named as ‘Best Buys’ by Consumers Digest,” said Doug Betts, Senior Vice President – Quality, Chrysler Group LLC. “We have gone to great lengths to enhance the craftsmanship and quality of all of our vehicles. These awards are evidence that we’re producing cars, trucks, crossovers, minivans and SUVs that customers – and critics – appreciate.
Consumers Digest’s automotive “Best Buys” is an annual issue of the publication where editors judge vehicles based on build and performance traits like ergonomics, fit and finish, utility, acceleration, fuel economy and more. Other factors considered include resale value, warranty, maintenance costs and annual operating expenses. Then, the top vehicles in 12 individual categories are named the publication’s “Best Buys.”
The Chrysler Group LLC received eight of Consumers Digest’s “Best Buys,” more than doubling the announced its annual automotive “Best Buys,” and vehicles from Chrysler Group LLC received eight of them, more than doubling the number the automotive group received in 2010 and 2011. Throughout the past year and a half, the Chrysler Group introduced 16 all-new or significantly revamped vehicles, many of which have been awarded.
The Chrysler 300 houses a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission for 2012, carving its own notch in history as the first luxury sedan equipped with such technology and power. While the new segment-exclusive ZF 8HP45 transmission was once reserved to imports with big price tags, the 300 models cost nearly half for shoppers at the Fort Worth area Chrysler dealer.
Fort Worth Chrysler 300 drivers will find the highly-technological power and engineering in the 300, 300S (V-6) and 300 Limited models. Coupled with the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that pumps out 292 horsepower, shoppers will immediately learn what power the vehicle is capable of. A boost in power and fuel efficiency is a result of the addition of three gear ratios in the transmission design. These provide evenly spaced ratios that produce even brisker acceleration and smoother shifts.
The other Chrysler “Best Buy,” the Town & Country, builds upon the existing technology, design, and luxury features with increased refinement in the new model year. Fort Worth Chrysler shoppers will find that leather seating and a rear-seat DVD system now come standard in all models.
Additionally, on Limited models, drivers and passengers can enjoy enhanced comfort and appearance with new Sapphire Blue interior lighting and a leather and wood steering wheel. Also new in 2012, car seekers can choose from three new exterior colors for 2012: True Blue, Cashmere Pearl, and Crystal Blue.
