2012 Jeep Wrangler Wins 4×4 of the Year, Dealer Serving Abilene Confirms

Blake Fulenwider Jeep is thrilled to announce to Jeep fans in Abilene that the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was named “Four Wheeler of the Year” by Four Wheeler Magazine.  Wrangler succeeds last year’s winner, the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“By earning the respected ‘Four Wheeler of the Year’ award, consumers – and particularly the most die-hard off-road enthusiasts – can be assured that the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has established an even higher level of unmatched capability,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “We are delighted the influential editors of ‘Four Wheeler’ magazine have recognized Wrangler’s new level of capability, along with its improved power, torque and fuel efficiency.”

Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon Unlimited are the models made for serious off-roading. A combination of Sport and Sahara-grade pieces, they also get an electric-disconnecting front anti-sway bar, the Rock-Trac heavy-duty transfer case, a heavy-duty front axle, locking front and rear differentials, a 4.10:1 axle ratio, rock rails, BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires on alloy wheels and other equipment intended for the serious off-roader. The Rubicon offers options similar to other models, and safety features that come standard include dual front airbags, tire-pressure monitor, anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control with rollover mitigation. Seat-mounted front side airbags for torso protection are optional.

2012 Wrangler Offers Abilene Jeep Shoppers Improved Powertrain Option

Powering the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 24-Valve VVT engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Pentastar V6 engine is a new addition to the Wrangler and is an improvement over its pervious powertrain option. In fact the new engine even boosts the Wrangler’s fuel efficiency from 15mpg city/19mpg highway to 17mpg in the city and 21mpg on the highway.

To enhance the 4×4 experience, the 2012 Wrangler also offers the Command-Trac Shift-on-the-Fly 4WD System. Speed control, which is perfect for long stretches of highway and hill start assist, which can be quite handy for the more adventurous drivers, is also standard on the new model. Off-roading enthusiasts will also appreciate its transfer case skid plate shield and fuel tank skid plate shield.

Abilene Jeep Wrangler drivers won’t have all the fun though; passengers can enjoy its 6-speaker audio system with steering wheel mounted controls, audio jack input for mobile devices, built-in CD player, and MP3 connectivity. Other standard interior features include reclining front seats, a rear fold-and-tumble seat, auxiliary 12-volt power outlet, Sunrider soft-top, cargo tie-down loops, and a tilt steering wheel.

Jeep shoppers in the Abilene area can schedule an appointment to test drive the “Four Wheeler of the Year” by calling Blake Fulenwider Jeep at 325-480-4473 or by visiting their dealership located at 110 N Access Road #ih-20, Clyde.
